Eyes trained upon the book between her slender fingers, Liz took one of the pages, yellowed with age, and turned it, her eyes shifting quickly as the librarian walked by her. She had been in the library all night, reading this Bible of suicide...and she didn't care. At her feet lay a black book, with the words "Twisted Horror" scrawled across the cover in blood-like letters, red. One hand lifted and she tucked her hair behind her ear, then she let it fall over her face like a silky curtain. Smiling sinisterly, she looked at her gloved hands. Clenching a fist, she watched the leather twist as the several muscled beneath her skin moved. The librarian passed again, and liz trained her gaze once again on the book as she smiled at the dripping horror of the book.

Nick leaned against the walls of the library, thinking about his family and how they could be together again. Pictures flashed through his mind about the time when he was little and was always with his sisters. That time has changed. He is now separated from them, except Nicole. Nicole, the second oldest, got privileges to be with Nick. She loved him and wanted to be with her only brother, but things just wouldn't let it go that way. Nicole sat down at a small table near the back and rested her tired head on it. Sobbing in pain, not for her but for her family. She hated the way things were, just like Nick. Nick pulled a book out of the shelves and read the title. He smirked and opened the book. Dust evaporated to his nostrils and a sneezed, dropping the book. A loud smack on the ground echoed through the library. He bended over to pick it up, then noticing someone familiar, Liz. He smirked and walked over to her. " Long time, no see, huh?"

Broken from her trance, Liz glanced up and looked him steadily in the eye. "Yes" she said quietly, her voice a raspy whisper. "You're Nick, right?" she asked, keeping an eerily steady eye contact with him. She remained seated, with the yellowed page of the book between her fingers, her eyes tortured and dark, with the hint of tears at the corner. She didn't smile, nor did she laugh, but she only stared steadily. "Why are you in the library?" she asked, merely curious.

Nick nodded. " Yeah, that's me," he said, in a low voice. Looking around, he could people leaving and entering the library. He checked back and forth on Nicole every once in a while to make sure she hasn't ran away. But why would she? She always wanted to be with Nick. Nick looked at the book in Liz's hands. Indeed it was old and yellowed from age. He wondered why Liz was reading this kind of book. He kept a straight face and sighed. " To stay away from my parents, that's all."

Glancing back at the book in her hands, she removed a red-splotched bookmark with the words "No one understands me" on it, and she placed it in the book, closing it. Locking gazes with Nick again, she held no expression upon her face. "Your sister?" she asked in a low tone, gesturing toward the girl at the table nearby with one thin, black-nailed hand. She wore a black hoodie with the Independent logo and loose, comfortable black jeans. She wore a studded leather belt and there was a chain on her left side. Breathing a sigh, she looked at him again. "You are from school, am I veridical?" she asked.

Nick stared hard at the bookmark. Reading the words, he wondered why nobody can't ever accept some people. If Liz wanted to be who she was, nobody can stop her and tell her otherwise. Nick thought about people at school. They always told him to change, but Nick never did. He likes the way he is. Nick nodded slowly, " Yeah. I've seen you in the halls sometime. I never talk to you, I don't talk to anybody. Things have just been rough for me, so I keep silent." Nick glanced back at Nicole, who was now reading a book. He smiled and looked away, back towards Liz. " Why are you here, just.... alone?"

A faint smile appeared. "Yes. I know" She said, and at his question, her eyes turned stone-cold. "I've nothing elso to do..." she said softly, her voice trailing off into the sinister darkness, and the cold wind that had somehow gotten inside of the door passed her. Glancing up at him, something flickered behind those cold eyes. "Why don't you have a seat?" she asked, her voice like the soft hissing of a serpent. "I could use the company..." Glancing furtively behind her, she set the old book beneath her chair, and she slowly took the black book out from beneath it. From her pocket she withdrew a mechanical pencil, and she scrawled something in the book. "I'm not going to school tomorrow." she said quietly.

Nick watched as Liz switched her books. He narrowed his eyes. A smile soon appeared again, though this one wasn't the usual smile you see on Nick. This smile had a lot of emotion in it. He glanced at the book and sat down beside Liz. " Why? It's about to end, so just.... go," Nick said. Indeed, school had about a week left and everyone was out. Nick wasn't too excited about that because that meant he had to go back to Mexico and leave his sister here. He looked up at the clock. Time had gone by so fast. He sighed and looked back to Liz, trying to keep a straight face.

Sighing she flicked her gaze from the book, back to Nick. "Huh." she said leaning back in the chair and searching his face for an answer. "I'll consider it. In the meantime, however..." her voice trailed off as she searched her memory for the words to say. Then, for some reason she decided against it. "Yes. I can't wait for school to end, though I might not have much else to do during the summer, other than spending time here. " she said, gesturing with one pale hand to the old, musty books around her, and her eyes softened a tiny bit.
