As the winds threatened to chill the two over, Kylee had made her way towards the small cafe. She had been sure to keep her pace with Dil, thinking over the previous events which had occurred moments before. She was rather reluctant to turn towards her home and she assumed the same of Dil so she was pleased when he asked her for bite to eat though just a talk would have been nice too. She sighed, gaze directed towards the ground, squeezing his hand lightly as her fingers still remained laced with his.
As she reached the door her grasp upon his hand was released, opening it and holding it just long enough for each to pass through. She moved into the quaint area though halted, waiting for him. She glanced at the menu, unsure of what was available. She was more of an isolated person and really had no one to interact with, more than likely due to her attitude problem. It was the first time she had been in the cafe and to add to that, the first time she had been there with a friend, one who happened to be of the opposite gender.
[hope its ok that I posted here...didn't see anywhere else to post for food/beverages]

Sighing, Dil sat, looking at the menu, and letting go of Kylee's hand. He felt the lump in this throat go as he did, but he felt empty afterward...odd. Shaking his head, he looked at Kylee for a moment, then looked quickly back to the menu, deciding against having something to eat. He had a bit of a digestive problem at the moment, and he really didn't need anything to screw this night up for him. He turned to Kylee, smiling.
"So, why did you want to go with me...? I'm just a little brown-noser with a hidden agenda.." Dil smirked after he said that; those were Jessi's exact words to him after her father allowed him in the house.
[sorry xP Suckish!]

Seeing as it was later at night she had no interest in eating anything. They mostly had cold food, nothing which untested her. She ordered an iced drink, glancing up at Dil as she waited for it to arrive. She bit her lip slightly, hands in her lap though moving about, slightly nervous. She listened to his struggling with how to answer. She wasn't going to admit how she felt and doubted he would either, if he had felt the same, that is. "Because your a little brown-noser with a hidden agenda." She grinned, flashing him a quick smile. I came because I thought it'd be fun to hang out with you.
She glanced at the table, fingers tracing across the worn top. She felt somewhat stupid with her answer and took to taking a sip of her drink when it arrived, throwing an occasional glance at him.
[blah, mine's not much better]

"Oh...." Dil knew he had been stupid to ask that. Of course she didn't feel that way about him. Ah well. At least he gained a friend, right? That was important as well. Shaking his head, he looked at Kylee and smiled warmly. "Say, would you like to go to a little....county get together with me? You get to see me make a fool of myself even more than normal." He was bribing her, yes, but that was the truth. He was going to have to sing, but at least not alone...
Sighing, he laid his head in his hands as he stared forward, across the counter, wondering what she would say.

"You sound so excited..." She joked, tones held slight sarcasm as she noted his not so delightful reply. Perhaps she was mistaken, perhaps he had grabbed her hand as a joke, a prank, anything than what she had hoped it had meant. She sighed to herself quietly, green eyes fixed upon him intently. Heart seemed to jolt a bit as he proposed the idea of going somewhere with him. She nodded. "As long as I won't be seen by anyone I know." She grinned, knowing she would definitely keep the time open, though it wasn't as if she had much to do other than lock herself in her room. She had wanted the warmth of his touch once more and lingered on the thought of leaning over the table and grasping his hand just as he had hers though she fought it. She wasn't going to make a fool of herself seeing as she doubted his interest in her.

"Oh, it's just that I thought....nevermind" Dil sighed as he looked at her through his bright brown orbs, unsure of what to do about this situation. He was interested in her, but...he didn't know exactly what to do. He wasn't exactly what you would call smooth around the opposite sex, and an older woman to boot. Shaking his head, he smirked lightly and chuckled slightly. "Oh, I'm pretty sure ya won't. So, it's date then...?" He was a bit wary about asking this, fearing rejection. It was his kryptonite, his weakness. Rejection killed him, and he was pretty sure Kylee wouldn't say yes. He would be singing with Jason, Jessi, Chase, and Shane. They were his family now, even if Jessi hated him. He knew as well as she did she wouldn't kill him. He didn't fear her, and she didn't fear him. They clashed with their personas and such.

Brow raised slightly as he had started to speak though cut himself off. What..? She was interested in hearing what he was about to say, waiting upon his answer, if he were to give one. She took another sip of her drink, nearly finishing it off. Lip was bitten once more as he asked if this get together would be a date. Yeah, looking forward to it, just need to know when and where. She hadn't known if he acquired his drivers license or not and she wasn't going to bother. She hadn't really cared to have her parents interrupt and insist on meeting her if he had picked her up though perhaps they could meet in the park. Knowing he would be there and her along with him made it sound quite interesting.
She finished her drink, throwing a few dollars on the table for her payment. She had watched him carefully, gaze moving over his frame, thinking over whether or not she should verbally express her feelings.
